Had a member on here contact me, and has a SpeedWerx Pipe,Y-Pipe and modified front dump can set up.

But it came off an 03 900 Carb...

what is the differnce, i know you look at every ones site and they list for an 03 900.. and then for a 04-06 900 motors..

will it fit or a no go?

The way the pipe mounts is different. the 04 and up is spring mount and the 03 and older is bolted. Hard to explain but they mount completely different.

I have a 03 and there are no bolts on the pipe/can! Its all sprigs, the only thing that bolts are the L bracket that goes on the chains case, The L bracket takes a bushing very easy to fab if needed!

03 Exhaust straight down exit
04/05(?) Exhaust straight down with a cover over the bottom to help prevent bog from powder
06 Exhaust front dump

I have installed all 06 parts on a 03 and used the newer exhaust, no problem no mods

For a single pipe your right. I was thinking about my slp twins I had a set for an 03 and a set of 04 and newer. The mounting points are different.

Early 03' and late 03's were different mounts. Remember it was a half year model causing a lot of confusion. Mounting points are no big deal to modify.

Later '03 had a bracket under the pipe with a coiled spring that wrapped around the expansion chamber. The 04 -06 had a rubber piece that the expansion chamber shield rested against with a spring attached to the inner front bend holding it down. I put a '05 pipe on my '03.5 with the rubber mount modified by grinding down. Also the outlet flange mounted at a different angle to the muffler which is why I sanded down the rubber mount to make the angles line up much better. Actually the Bikeman mod to a '03 pipe really works good! When bolted on engine turned 8000+ rpm., then with 4 grams grams more weight holds 76-7700rpm. and is an absolute overly responsive torque monster! No wonder why guy's want to put these in later model Cat sleds. I bet one of these in a Polaris Pro would be a handful! Mike

I just picked up the black spdwrx can to match my spdwrx single pipe, replacing the burnt out FMF Dirtbike can that had been modified there. Not sure if I even got the right damn can by the looks of it... or if my sleds been jacked up by the po.

anyway... you sure you got the right price there? $250 for the black, $350 or so for the ceramic coated, at least... when I bought the other day off their site.

good luck, be careful what you get. I think I'm going to have a bit of fab in my near future.

I cant speak for aftermarket pipes but i know 100% that the stock pipes for a carb and a EFI are different. I owned both sleds at the same time, and they are different. The EFI pipe has a much bigger outlet.
