I need something to protect the top of my tunnel from rub marks from my tool kit and gas cans. What is everybody using? I was thinking about some kind of adhesive rubber mat. Thoughts?

Lowes sells checker plate self adhesive rubber strips about 4"x14". They are step pads for trailers so they are in their trailer parts section.

I've been using the rubber mat that is sold to line the drawer of a toolbox. has lasted three seasons without a problem. Used waterproof double sided tape.
Autobody shops should have rolls of a clear vinyl that has a glue on one side used for rock and chip gaurd, I think 3m’s makes it.

You can buy the clear 3m protective film, that "revv up" mentions, from many online auction sites and retail sites. I ordered a roll a year ago and use pieces of it surprisingly often.
