I'm working on finishing this up right now. Vanamburg inspired with a Pro RMK taillight and custom housing. Still need to do the running board edges, finishing riveting, and polish it.

I just bought the 09 bumper, edge rails and support gussets. Then trimmed the handle part off my old bumper, trimmed it to fit, used a sanding wheel on a grinder to sand off the nub in the middle on back, and put a couple extra bolts on the sides.

So, did you have clearance issues with the WRP boards and the 09 rail edges? When I did this mod on my king cat I was running cutler no snows and the 09 rail edges would not fit because of clearance.

I installed the WRP boards at the same time I did the tunnel. I called WRP before ordering to check their measurements and found that I needed their 09 boards to fit with the 09 edge rails. The new style rails rivet on top of the factory boards where as the older ones riveted on the bottom side(or vice versa).

i am in the middle of doing this to my 07 M8 and im having alot of trouble getting my gussets to fit correctly. Do you HAVE to buy the 09 edge rails so the gussets fit correctly or is there a better way?

If you don't have the newer rail edges you have to grind down the gussets quite a bit to get them to fit in the older rail edges. Then get them welded, they will brake if you don't.

That chunk of aluminum sticking up looks like a killer, I have seen guys get real tore up from just gas racks, that thing could take half your leg off if the sled got away from you in the wrong way, smooth that baby out or get rid of it.
Wyo, that's a mount for my jack, I know you Guy's up north aren't use to seeing those things!

Here is my 06, used 09 bumper and gussets. everything else is stock. just a bit of trimming the old bumper/cooler cover. I learned the hard way on my 900's when i did this. I cut it flush on the tunnel. I learned that took away all the strength. On this sled I left 3/4 inch of the running board side. It is crazy how much strength you get just from that rolled edge of aluminum.

So all you did is buy the 09 gussets and rear bumper then, everything else worked fine? My brother wants to do this with his 08 also.

Yep, you will have to grind down the end of the gusset quite a bit to get it to fit in the rail edge. Or, you can buy the 09 rail edges and change them too. The issue you could run into there is if you already have some type of snow eliminator you wont have enough room for the 09 edges. I still need to weld the gussets to the rail edges, just so they dont brake off later on. Also, be careful when drilling the tunnel for the gussets. your cooling lines are in the upper corners of the tunnel. It would be suck to drill a hole in one !

I want to do my 07, do i have all the correct part numbers? I'm not planning on using the rail edges or cooler. Going to use stock cooler and weld gussets to edge rails.
