Can anyone help me find a couple of torque specs? I need to know the specified torque for the primary bolt as well as the top gear bolt in the chain case.

Thank you,

89 ft-lb WOW

89ft-lbs sure sounds like alot. The last thing I want is to twist this thing off. Then again don't really want it coming loose either.

Any other input?

Thanks for the book spec's MT boondocker.

85 ft/lbs for the primary, 35 for the top gear.

on the primary, torque it to 85 and then start the engine and run it up till the clutch engages. turn the motor off and re-torque!

It was 70 lbf*ft for the TRA3 splined primary then the 2007 Rev 800R (which had the new TRA7 with the tapered shaft) came out, so many people (and dealerships) would torque to 70 lbf*ft but it wasn't long after they were released that a bulletin was sent out to ensure torque on the TRA7 was 89 lbf*ft. It is 89 lbf*ft in all the manuals.
