I started a thread on this awhile ago. I have the same ambitions. Renting/hotel isn't really feasible in a lot of the areas I want to ride.

My thoughts were insulated with a 25/35 Atwood, lots of venting/air movement, flat screen TV, microwave, etc. No water/toilet.

See this post. This is my rig and it's set up pretty well exactly how we've needed it to stay in. Works great.

Kevin the owner of Advantage RV's in Watertown SD and I customized it. Insulation all around and sprayfoamed under. 35k atwood and I run a edenpure electric and it's nice. Honda quiet 6500 generator keeps it going.

I have a small slide in camper and will most likely get a 16 foot enclosed this year. I normally run a sled deck for day trips. Planning to outfit the trailer with a heater and a few cots for the kido and the dogs. We are thinking it will be perfect because we can keep all the gear and other camping crap in the trailer and keep the slide in camper clutter free. In the summer it will be perfect for side by side trips. This setup seems to give the most year around options. If I need to I can use the sled deck and the trailer for man trips where general hygiene goes out the window. Spent 8 days in Valdez last spring camping in a buddy's enclosed and yes when the riding is that good there is no time for a shower or other cleanliness. Every trailer should have a coleman grill in it. We made some awesome moose burgers and deer chilli on our trip.

What type of interior paint are you using? I imagine the smell in that fart box would peel any standard residential stuff in like 20 mins flat....lol

First step was to remove the interior walls for insulation and wiring.

Wiring ran and pulled to disconnect box

10714253_10152480642067449_8819265747174511646_o.jpg

Next step:
-Terminate wire in disconnect box
-Cut windows in - (3)
-Put Ceiling and Walls back up
-Install heaters - (1) for space heat - 42kBTU; (1) for drying rack32kBTU - (heat load calc came to 23kBTU) ductwork will be 4" PVC and the two systems will be connected with an isolation valve separating them, if one of the heaters fails the other heater can still be send heat to all areas.
-Speakers - (4) 6x9
-Cabinets for kitchen/work bench
-Install batteries
-Install shelves (aluminum 12x12 with a 3" lip)
-Install shower water tanks - 2 x 20 gal tank - one for grey water and one for fresh water
-Install sink water tanks - 2 x 5 gal tank
-Install instantaneous HW heater for shower
-Run propane lines
-Shower pan and grey water pump from shower will be on a "skid" so they can be picked up as one piece and hung on the wall - power and water lines will be flexible.

LOTS to do

Ditching the white interior and going with the plywood that was behind. Bottom sheet of ply-wood will be polyurethane and the top half will be an exterior paint, not sure on color, something on the brighter side.

We have "gas" doors that double as fart doors, perfect height, just back your rear up to one and let it rip.

I love the shower idea - call me a wuss but I love a shower after a couple days camping. My truck-camper doesn't have one, but I'll go full hippy and jump in the damn lake in April just to de-stankify.

Although with a shower in the mix, 20 gals goes pretty quick in my experience. Would you bring extra water to re-fill, or just use very sparingly?

Really interested in your shower idea. I am about to do the same thing to my trailer. Never could come up with a good shower idea. Any more pics of shower pan and water tanks?

Walls and windows up, ready for paint. Arctic Cat green on the top, poly on the bottom. Green will be covered with poly once it dries to give it a more durable finish. Color wasn't my choice...

We had the girls pick an arctic cat green off instinct at the HW store and ended up being super close on the color. Who wouldn't want to use the "fun" paint?!

I'll be putting the last coat of poly on the walls (green & natural plywood) this week.

Enjoying the build. Where did you guys order the large window from?
The windows were $75 for the big one, $50 for the mid size (double pane) and $25 for the small one. The small one was the only one that came with the interior metal trim.

I would recommend going to a car junk yard that has rvs and pull the window yourself. The rv junk yard I went to strips all the rvs for parts so they had a building full of windows and a pile 10 ft tall of the metal trims.....

We cut the interior plywood pretty good so it looks OK but I wish i had the trim for the inside.

With trim

1 pump for the fresh water, 1 pump for the the grey water.

Both are self priming, the grey water pump can run dry without damage, and the fresh water has a pressure switch

Santa Claus/UPS man should be at the house tomorrow with all the goods.
