2007 m8 engine code 12

Just purchased 2007 m8 with ignition code 12 blinking. Sled is in limp mode. Thought code was exhust heat sensor when purchased but after further investigation found it is code 12, ignition. Any thoughts of the likely problem?

Any one figure out the 1.2 code. other than ignition coil. or is it that simple and the ignition coil needs to be replaced?
