Belt deflection

Having a problem with my pdrive. When I torque it down it squeezes the belt too far and I can’t properly set my deflection. I have to run the belt about 1/4” lower in the secondary than it’s supposed to be or the sled creeps bad. Anyone know the fix for this? Sled is a 2017 850 165X3. Dynamo Joe clutch kit.

Are you certain its seated on the PTO shaft properly?

It’s on right. I’ve pulled it several times double checking. I’ll post some pics when I get home. It’s fine until I torque it. Then it’s like the dampener is going too far into the taper and I lose belt to sheave clearance.

Did you install the new 2019 motor mounts?
If so you have one of the motor mounts installed upside down.

the belt should be sitting a little higher in the secondary.I usually try to have the valley of the ribs even with the top of the secondary.

Right. That’s why I’ve posted this. The sled creeps even with the belt being this low in the secondary clutch.

if the belt is too low it will creep forward, that's normal. I think you're looking at it backward

If I set the belt deflection per the manual I can barely stop the sled with the brake.

Are you sure the primary is opening all the way?

It’s open all the way till I torque it down. I’ve checked pivot bolts ect to make sure nothing is hanging up on the spider after torquing it and everything is still free

Do your weights( ramps ) move freely? When the clutch is assembled?
