The early release of the 2018 8000 C-TEC2 models allowed us to get a jump start on all of the parts and accessories for this machine. In addition to the videos we showed you last spring where we were field testing the Supercharger and our Stage 2/3 Exterminator Kits, we have logged many miles testing clutch kits on the stock machines and have made over 600 pulls on our engine dyno testing various components and configurations.
At this time we are still testing and gathering as much info as we can on this new engine package, so you can be assured all the new parts will be 110% tested and proven to meet Speedwerx standards before they reach your doorstep. Most of the new products still being tested are available for pre-order now and will ship once testing is completed and production parts are made, however some parts are in stock and available for purchase right now. Here’s a few notes on various parts and pieces...
Hypershift Clutch Kit testing was completed in the spring, and they are available for purchase now.
Speedwerx Lightweight and L2 Mufflers have been tested, the fit and internal specs are the same as the 2012-2017 models. Exhaust pressures match the stock system, so there is no power gain or loss and performance is consistent across the board. Available for purchase now.
Our Fat Daddy Single Pipe and Y-Pipe combo is showing solid gains over stock with good over rev power as well- these are available for pre-order now. Y-Pipe for stock pipe is still under development at this time.
The Stealth Head Mod with billet dome inserts is going to be the key to unlocking maximum power and performance from the 800 C-TEC2. The head design adds power while reducing knock readings detected by the stock sensor with a compression ratio similar to stock- we are seeing a 4-6 hp gain in mid-range RPMs on premium pump gas and it looks like the head may not need a fuel controller with the stock pipe. At higher elevations, we expect gains to be in the 6-10 hp range depending on the elevation and compression ratio. Exact specs and recommendations are pending further testing, but they are available for pre-order now in our Exterminator Kits.
Cold Air High Flow Intake and Timing Key are inexpensive upgrades and will be standard issue in our Exterminator Kits.
Reeds and Bored Throttle Bodies are still under development at this time.
We will also be developing a 900 Big Bore Kit to meet the new ISR Hill Climb rules for the Improved Stock and Mod classes- this will surely be a stellar back country engine package as well!
