HM TURBOS is announcing their 2012-13 Turbo kit packages.

They are offering two main kits: Base Kit (190hp) and H.O. Kit (240hp).
(If you'd like to go bigger, please contact HM TURBOS in person.)

HM Turbos is your Polaris turbo specialist. The goal of HM Turbos is to make a very easy-to-use system that takes the tuning and guesswork out of the equation for the owner. Pull the rope and ride. No more watching guages, pushing buttons and checking boost levels. It monitors and compensates it all by itself.
HM Turbos utilizes the Vi-pec stand alone ECU and will not be using a piggyback on their turbo systems.

Final pricing will be announced soon.

BASE KIT (190hp):
  • Utilizes super snleaded, 91 octane, non-ethanol premium pump gas.
  • This kit will make 190hp at ALL elevations without a single adjustment at all. It's self-compensating. Read below to find out about how that works.
  • Produces 6.5psi boost at 5000' elevation (other elevations require different boost levels to produce the 190hp).
  • Uses stock components (injectors, etc)
H.O. Kit (240hp):
  • Utilizes 100LL-AV gas
  • This makes 240hp at all elevations. Self compensating.
  • Produces 10.5psi boost at 5000' elevation. Again, different elevations require different boost levels to produce the 240hp.
  • Uses mostly stock components and HM Turbo upgraded components (injectors, etc)
With the ViPec standalone ECU, these turbo systems are totally self-compensating.

Get the reliability of a stocker, and the performance of a turbo.
  • You don't need any gauges!!! It has so many sensors that it controls all parameters internally. If you really feel like you need gauges, you CAN purchase them.
  • NO MORE RECLUTCHING when you ride at different elevations. Ride at sea level and then ride at Cooke City...no reclutching.
  • SAME HP levels are produced at all elevations so that you don't have to adjust to anything. Other systems produce the same boost and you have to either change your bost manually or reclutch, refuel (change octane), etc to adjust to the elevation changes that you produce for that boost.
  • Remote support via internet. YOU DON'T HAVE TO TUNE. When you get your system, all the parameters will be set and you don't have to do a thing.
  • Fill up, pull the rope and ride. No buttons to push, no guages to watch, no adjustments are needed. If you ever had a tuning issue, call the shop and Justin will have you hook the Vipec to your computer...and he can take a look at the parameters remotely.
  • HM TURBOS Warranty on new sled installs. Order your turbo package and have it installed before you hit the snow!!
  • Custom TEAM Clutching. Specific clutching with custom ground helix and adjustable weights comes with your turbo package. Shane tests clutching in MANY conditions many times a week at multiple elevations and conditions around Lolo Pass ALL SEASON LONG.
  • Lowest engagement of ANY turbo system out there. Builds boost at very low RPMs. This helps you to make boost when you are in and out of the throttle through the whoops or in the trees. No lag or heavy hit while trenching in the trees!!!
  • Fresh Air Intake: Your stock intake will source the cool dry air from the outide. No need to suck in warm air from under the hood.
  • Reed stoppers. Installed so that your petals aren't over taxed. Will keep from chipping or over-flexing.
  • Throttle-body boot retainers. These boot retainers are going to keep your throttle body boots from flexing and cracking over time. Just think what happens when other turbo systems hang extra weight on their boots and they don't use retainers!!
  • Only consolidated water-to-air intercooler.
  • Lowest charge temps of any kit.
  • Maintain durability on stock components.
  • Turbo pipe IS available. Please inquire.
  • Turbo porting available.
  • Closed loop-electronic boost control.
If you have the Base Kit with ViPec, you can upgrade to the H.O. Kit VERY EASILY!!!!! Much easier than you think.

Shop Services:
Send in your injectors to be flow tested for best performance. This is reccommended on all engines.

Call and talk to Shane about pricing and warranty if you wish, but Shane hadn't set price yet last time I talked to him, but I think it will be close to last years pricing.

As for the warranty, he will offer turbo warranty for authorized dealer installs on brand new sleds.

Just curious more than anything here cause I can't afford to step into (or even keep the one I have hence it being up for sale!) but I couldn't find it on the site... Shane is doing some really different stuff with his kits this year so just curious...

Does the bast kit include the intercooler? does he not have a non intercooler kit now??

Just curious!

What does this kit have to offer compared to Bd or some of the other kits that is cheaper with more hp? I know that hp isn`t everything, just wondering..

What other kit is claiming more hp? I would say the standalone and WA intercooler are 2 big things others don't have

No comparison what so ever- the charge temps we were seeing are 39 to 69 degrees depending on ambient temperature. These kits run extremely well and tons of track speed.

Guys we didn't inflate any numbers at all these are real world on the hill numbers proven by fuel consumption/ignition timing calculations- 100's of hours of datalogging and side by side in field testing (Not sitting on the dyno testing). The clutching is absolutely spot on-thanks to shane wearing out brake pads and beating on his sled day after day to get 1 millionth of a second faster. The throttle response and on/off throttle is unreal --no more wondering if its going to stumble on you at a bad time. Besides who has pulled 80mph track speed with a 3" paddle 163 on 10 psi boost except us ;) Alos I will add that this kit is very very well designed with lots of neat little additions you wont find in any other kit. Yes the Competition may sell for less but Shanes kit was the only one on the snow most of last year with the vipec and if you figure out what should be included in a excellent kit --most other kits need to be upgraded to make them even remotely decent.

ahh??

Mentioned above that charge temps are 39 to 69 degrees with this kit. Can someone explain how that could be if the sled runs at 120 and the turbo is pumping out about 65 degrees. How is the charge temp cooler than what the return side of the coolant system can be?

Could be doing the same thing as Neils new air/water intercooler , using a seperate cooling system!

Seperate water to air intercool system, not running off engine coolant. Oh by the way the 69 degree charge temp was on setup snow and it was 65 degrees ambient temp.

Shanes kit is the best to come to market im gonna get one soon as i get the scratch together i just stepped to the dark side from cat because i spent some time on a ported pro and a boosted pro at turbo days. U can't ask for a better guy to buy a turbo from i thought i knew alot about turbo sleds but after talking with shane i relized that i was still a newb. He anwsered all my questions and didn't talk down or treat me like i was an idiot. I will say this when it comes to turbo kits u get what u pay for. U have to ask yourself do u want the best most reliable turbo out there with a warrenty so u can just ride and not worry? Do u want 80 mph track speed? Do u want the sweetest well thought out designed kit? U must want the best u already bought a polaris why buy any other kit on the market a true pull and go monster that will make the fun factor so high u will get off the sled when your at the top and have to pee but u cant because your hands wont stop shakin. Dont worry u will have time to calm down when your waitin for your buddies to make one more run to try to get over the top and u can look down and yell HM TURBO BABY WHOOO
