I brought my sleds home for fall look over,, i have an 96 XCR440 SP which runs great,, i took belt off and slightly rocked the primary back and forth very slightly, heard a little tap, or cluck, very minute sound,,,.
Is there a little slop suppose to be in the rod bearings,, or is that something else ?
Sled run good and have no clunk sound when running.
1/2 way thru last season i did notice that sound when engine off,, put on 600 or so miles after that with no issues.
