They're good to experiment with too. I've used several different flavors of pudding and alcohol.

One of my favorites is to take a spinach/artichoke dip, add shrimp, spread over a open face hoagie roll, top w/Parmasian cheese then bake in 375 oven till toasty brown

this is one recipe that I always enjoy

Bloody Mary recipe

1 oz. to 1 1/2 oz. (30-45 ml) vodka in a Highball glass filled with ice.
Fill glass with tomato juice
1 dash celery salt
1 dash ground black pepper
1 dash Tabasco
2-4 dashes of Lea & Perrin's Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. horseradish (pure, never creamed)
Dash of lemon or lime juice
Garnish with celery stalk.

May be shaken vigorously or stirred lazily, as desired. Garnish with a celery stalk; a skewer of olives, pickles, carrots, mushrooms, or other vegetables; or even meat or fish (salami, shrimp, etc.) and cheese. Occasionally, pickled asparagus spears or pickled beans are also used.

its my favorite drink...

this is even better imo with clamato instead of tomato juice

Salsa Halibut

(Use fillets off chicken size halibut or split fillets to 3/4-1/2 inch)

Put 2-3 Tbsp olive oil in a casserole or baking dish with one crushed/minced garlic clove and a dash or two (no more than that) cumin powder. (enough to thickly coat bottom)

Arrange fish in dish, sprinkle with red chili powder, salt and pepper.

Combine...
1/2 cup diced tomatoes, 1/4 cup diced onion, 1 jalapeno seeded and minced, and 1 Tsp finely chopped cilantro. Spoon this over the fish and finish by squeezing fresh lime juice over each fillet.

Put fish uncovered into a preheated 375 degree oven for about 20-25 minutes.

Yup, Dasha's bonfire was the first time I made them. I don't see why you can't use real whipped cream. I'm all for substituting low cal/low fat whenever I can and keeping the flavor. I do this for a jalapeno popper dip too cause I looove that stuff.

Who'd a thunk it! Crock pot breakfast

I haven't tried this but next trip to the mountains when we feed a group, I think I'll get it ready the night before and try it! You could tone the fat and calories down with simple substitutions also.

Plastic slow cooker liner
1 pound bulk breakfast sausage, browned and drained
1 4.5-ounce package tostada shells, coarsely broken
3/4 cup chopped red sweet pepper (1 medium)
1/2 cup chopped onion (1 medium)
1 4-ounce can diced green chiles
12 eggs, or 3-1/2 cups refrigerated or frozen egg product
1 10.75-ounce can condensed fiesta nacho cheese soup
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 avocados, chopped
2 cups refrigerated fresh salsa
1 8-ounce carton dairy sour cream
Directions
1. Line a 3-1/2 or 4-quart slow cooker with a plastic slow cooker liner. In a very large bowl, combine sausage, broken tostada shells, sweet pepper, onion, and undrained diced green chiles. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, soup, and pepper. Pour over sausage mixture; transfer to prepared slow cooker.

2. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 5 to 6 hours. Serve mixture garnished with avocados, salsa, and sour cream. Makes 6 servings
