So what all did everyone get for the updates on their 17? Took it in yesterday and was just the actual recall stuff pipe sensor retainer, throttle body screws and some wire rerouting.

Same here. They recommend not going to the shorter gear with the 165. When I asked about the various clutch applications that I would be paying for he said that the 17 setup is still the best. He said he called the various other dealers in the area egos customers Would Be riding at similar altitudes and they all purportedly agreed. I had already cut the whole on the clutch cover and removed all the insulation.

I tore the foam and crap out day 1. Didn't blow a belt but I open the panels whenever I stop, I meant to get actual temp but always forgot my temp gun in the truck. Really never smelled the belt on my t3. This one I did on the deep days.

I blew a belt at 750 miles. Not bad necessarily but never blew one on my 14 and those belts had 1500 to 2000 miles on them. Bought the supposed new and improved and will put on when I blow the one on there currently.

I had them do all the updates that were covered, I'm still waiting on any clutching changes for the jury to come in. I must say, I kind of like the lower gearing especially in tight quarters. Mine is 154, 2 1/2.

I've only got to ride mine 25miles, 165 3". Did the shims, screws, wiring, and the gear change. I'm a little paranoid from my last belt eater. I did get it figured out after some belt destruction ?. I've got vents installed and bj's clutching coming as well! Waiting for some snow to get a base line before I clutch it:face-icon-small-coo

My vin number didn't have the shim or the gears for the update. 165 3". Dealer said 154's got the the gears and shim but very few 165's do. Ordered BJ's kit after thanksgiving so it should be here soon.

So you got the gearing with a 165. And they tell me 165's don't get it. Interesting.

My dealer told me the 165's don't, and shouldn't, do the gear change like the 154's. I want to try mine with the changes they did make and will be hopping on a 18 165 to see if I can feel a difference. I did ride an 18 154 today and it scooted.

Recall - Service Bulletin - 2017-9 Gears/Chain on the 154's lowers the gear ratio by 2.5%

Going out this week to see. I also tried a 2018 Freeride in crusty condition .... it pulls like a bulldozer.....

stopped by my dealer yesterday to ask about the updates. which i went in expecting what to hear.

The one i wasn't expecting to hear, or have not heard of up unto now, was the possibility of a new throttle body depending on once they inspect it.

apparently there was a bad batch in 2017 sometime.

The recall on the throttlebody is only for a set nut on the sync. that can get loose. If its the case the throttlebody is to be replaced. If its not loose. They replace the nut with a new one. On the 18 model's its a new design of that piece.

My buddy just bought a 17 holdover and was curious if he should change his clickers before going on first ride. Anyone have to move theirs from the initial factory setting? We ride at Snowy Range, 9000-12000 ft.

Needs more than a clicker change! Stock clutching is for 4,000-8,000 ft.
Get a clutch kit from Big John, and he can tweak it for any altitude.
