I just bought a 1993 Jag deluxe for my daughter, it sputters when runs and doesn't seem to want to build RPM's any advice on where to start to get this thing to run like a top

clean that carb..take the bowl off the bottom and get yourself some fine needles or an oxy/actylene torch tip cleaning set and stat reaming out the main/pilot orifices etc..you can also remove them...make sure you choke is set right..start your air screw at about 1.5 turns out...freah gas/filter..look at your belt for wear and clean the clutches...and really look at the rubber boot between the carb and engine for cracks /fatigue etc...thats a start for ya...
