Only pulling 8000? thats good isnt it? I only pull around 76-7800, my understanding is thats dialed in, are you not hitting the rev limiter?

Mine seems to work the best at about 8650 RPM. I am still having clutching issues and cannot get up past 8300 RPM even with the shockwave turned all the way in. I have hopefully found the right clutching setup now and just waiting for the new weights, rivits, spring and gear to arrive.

If you are pulling 76 to 7800 RPM....I think you will be pleasantly surprised how much better your sled will work with an additional1000 RPM!

How old is your gear?

How old are your clutching components? I lost rpm this year, and after some tinkering found my primary spring had lost all its memory.. I picked up a new one from SLY and she's back up to 100% again. I have never worried about springs wearing out until now. In talking with SLY they recommend replacing the springs yearly if you really put the miles on. For reference my clutching is as follows.

8BU's loaded with the long steel rivits in both holes
Blue/white/blue primary
EPI purple secondary wrapped to 0/1
14.5 rollers
shockwave 1.5 turns out.
8600-8700 rpm @ 12psi 2000ft

If you are only running 9lbs drill them out that should give you another 300 rpm or so. Thats a steep ramp to only run 9psi.I am running 8bu with 2.5 in the tip at 14psi at elevation pulling 8550 with the shockwave 2 turns out.8750 at 16psi 3.5 turns.Every sled that we have ran seems to be a little different. My buddies powderlites kit no weight in the tips pulls great.Long and the short pull the rivets and try it but you may have to try something different. How is the midrange does it pull hard?

I have a S/C at 12psi (about the equivalent of 9psi turbo)...yes, pull the rivets out of the tip...and you might need to put lighter rivets in the heel, but only change one at a time and see where it puts you.

And get a shockwave helix...a lot of guys set the weights to slightly overrev and then dial it in with the helix.
