STEERING POST REMOVAL

pull pipe, then pull the lower bolts only on the steering hoop (2 on each side, only pull the lower ones, loosen the upper ones and pivot around them)
remove the two nuts at the steering post bushing, and then there's one 9/16 bolt that holds the post to the bulkhead/ tunnel that's in the tunnel in front of the track. Have an extension handy for that one.

While removing the post, check the area around the base for cracking, now would be a good time to reinforce it with a wildchild or MM sports bulkhead brace if there's ANY signs of fatigue. Also if you've got slop in your bushing, perhaps consider a BDX steering post bushing, it makes the whole interface much stronger, and eliminates slop. At very least get a new cat bushing, as they're usually junk pretty quickly.
