Still stop by everyday. The 900 is RELIABLE and paid for. I got no problems hacking it up to modify it... and if I slam it into a tree, I can replace it with another fairly cheap these days!:face-icon-small-coo
The new pro climbs are cool but,,,,, lots of tech in there ya, I know they are proven. At the very most I will buy an 08 or newer sno pro racer and put a 900 motor in it FOR LESS. Sure it will take some time to set up but thats part of the fun for me. But if that does'nt happen a 900 is in my future for sure..
I hope they go down. I'd like to pick one up, but $$$ is always an issue for me...But don't worry, my good ol King ain't going anywhere, except up the hill like always:face-icon-small-hap
Yup - I'm still here too. Still highmarking with the 05. Just decided today that I'm going to keep it for at least another year to see how the new cats pan out. Maybe buy one that's a year old after the 11/12 or 12/13 season. Just tough to make the jump when the king hasn't let me down yet.
Wrote in another thread it is getting to be a rich mans sport, just like any other hobby the WORKING MAN tries to enjoy, have to make best with what we have, kinda fun kicking a new sleds *** once in a while.
I keep looking at the classifieds at used '10 M8's and then keep thinking about what would change in my riding. Probably be less tired at the end of the day but thats about it. Everything keeps getting more expensive and it is harder to find guys to go and share expenses with, keeps me on the king.
Just gotta say... in the last month I put the King up against 2 Pro RMK's on different rides/different conditions. They dont have my 900 by a whole lot. And I havent even done anything to the motor. Sure, i guess they're easier to ride? I really dont have any kind of "fatigue" or "hard to lay over" issues with my 1M. Have probably less than $4000.00 TOTAL invested in my 900 (including purchase price), whats the Pros running?:face-icon-small-hap
I'll be on the 1M for a while longer. Just picked up a '03 900. Straightened 162" Attack 20, boss seat, speedwerx twin pipes, head, and clutching, v-force reeds, slp powder pros. Rode it for the first time yesterday...very impressed.
I am lucky, still got my 03 900 151" and a 2010 M8 162"
The 900 is the back up sled and we took it out this weekend cause my buddies dragon burned down. I jumped back on it for a bit and really noticed how much more get up and go that ol 900 has, especially in the lower rpm range. So much power. She went everywhere my 2010 went except one hill, not bad for 8 year old technology. Some tricky mountain tree riding too. Sure its a bit heavier, not as much suspension travel and you have to throw your weight into it more but that motor is unbelievable. The 900 can still hold its own.
Lot of people are psyched on the 2012's, including me. Pretty cool that Cat has been making such great sleds for so long and the old iron still kicks some butt!:face-icon-small-hap
Mod it and Mod it again. She still climbs with the best of them! Wait 2-3 years before making the leap to the proclimb so Cat can get the bugs worked out some improvements like more ponies under the hood and by then there will be lots of after market goodies availble to start modding once again!:thumb:
I figured the Ol'e 1M would hold itself against the new alloy machines! Lighten it mod the engine a little and have fun! Powerclaw, skiis, and raise the chassis and shorter running boards. When comaring weights they should use whatever holds the least amount of fuel and put that amount in ea . machine. No big deal the 900 will stand strong for yrs. if they will let us run them and 4 strokes aren't the only thing allowed.
Rode a 2003 Mod 900 till last year when I picked up a flawess 2005 KingCat for $3000.00, came with two hoods and forward mounted steering post, sold my 2003 900 for $3000.00 this last fall, installed my SLP setup, New Powerclaw, and Boss Seat and have had the best year, I am amazed every time I ride it how well it climbs and handles and the power is awesome, I will stay with the KK MADDOGWFO Pictures taken last weekend
