Last season a friend had a home made snow bungie that he bought from a guy. It worked great! Does anybody have a plan available to make one?

50,800 rubberbands cut in half, then tie them to each other, lawnmower handle on one end, a hook on the other, your done......

one of my friends uses bunji jumping chord. he takes 3 bands of it and then just your normal tie down hook

I friend of mine makes them.
They work just as good if not better than the $75 ones but cost about $10 to make. I will see if I can get a picture of his and post it.

i went to a hardware store and bought 25' of 3/8 bunjie cord....looped it to make 4 strands....used a good caribienar (sp?) on each end......added a few feet of nylon tape for some versatility.....works better than the commercial one....and makes a good tow device, especially in rought terrain where a lot of jerking is going on....

keep in mind the plastic tubing covering the bungie cords is there for a reason

Obviously you don't want to make something dangerous.
That being said, I have seen more than one homade bunjie... If made correctly they work just as good and are a fraction of the cost.

Well the reason I am looking at building a homemade one is because you can make it to a custom length. The purchased snow bungies are so short. Sometimes you need the extra length to clear some distance from the other sled or you will have two stuck sleds.

Ive seen several homemade ones seemed to work fine. just pick up some bulk cord at your local hardware store. build your sleeve out of cordura. when in doubt over build and if it looks unsafe it probably is

At the snow show I told the snowbunjie guy that I had a funny story for him and he stopped me mid sentance and said "Shut up, I get sued for sheet like that" F the snowbunjie, especially a home made one. Had two buddies on seperate occasions get injured with these, one was a smack straight to the B@lls!if you make your own then you have no one to sue if it fails
