Have pulled 6000 lb loads with my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0 Turbo Diesel (OM642 engine) for years without worries. Does it accelerate as fast as my 6.7L F350? NOPE, but gets the job done without worries.
When my Grand Cherokee dies, I see a 3.0 F150 in my future.
