My 2007 M8 had a slow (5-10 mph) impact with a tree, dead center (don't ask how). Cracked the bumper which was easy to replace and put a small crack in the hood (also easy fix). No other visible damage but the sled now has an intermittent bog off idle and will occasionally back fire. I can blip the throttle a few times to get past the bog and it has no problem once above idle. I suspect the fuel pump may be the issue and I could measure fuel pressure to verify. I imagine the ECU could be suspect as well. Any obvious other causes to consider? Thanks.

Thanks to all for the advice. The bog turned out to be caused by a cracked throttle assembly. Runs like new again.
