01 summit 800 with 166x15x2.4" Polaris track. 47x19 gearing. Pulls 8200rpm on the steep hills with 2' of fresh pow, but only pulls 40mph track speed. On the flat ground, groomed road, it will pull 49 mph. What do we need to do to get more track speed on the hills?

Sounds like your right in the ball park for that sled with that much track under it... in fact alittle better than I would have thought.

What is the condition of both clutches and engine? The 40 on a hill sounds typical but 49 on the flats seems off.
Is it holding 8000+ on the flats or does it drop rpm? What clicker is it on?
Stock engine? Miles? Compression?

Brand new top end. Pulled crank an greased outter bearings an put back together. The rpms held at 82-83 through out the drag on the trail.
If you click down, will it still hold RPM?...or add pin weight until it sees no more than 8100.

We checkedvthe clutch an its on clicker 6.

It does have a stock pipe but the muffler is aftermarket not to sure what it is
Put the clicker on 3-4. It will not pull hard on 6.

The clutches were rebuilt fresh at the end of last season, (We had wound the spring in the secondary the wrong direction for a few rides last year before we figured it out) Both clutches are in stock form. I am guessing since it is on clicker 6, (I don't know why) that we will need to pull weight out when we put it on clicker 3?

Took it out today, clicker 3 pulled 81 rpm on flat ground in about a foot of powder. Speedo was 50
So its better? 50 in a foot of fresh sounds about right...probably a lot faster on the roads?
