My uncles both have 800etec one in a xp chassis 163 and one in a XM 154. The XM has about 500 miles on it and gets eaten alive by the xp. He said that the rpms are good. When they do a climb together the xp will climb way higher. He hasn't done the new reflash yet but not sure if that makes a difference. Please help my uncle out or he will keep riding my arctic cat...lol

Odd, my 13 163 XM would out climb and out power my buddies 12 154XP.

Clutching

If the RPM are good and holding then it sounds like you need to re-clutch. PM Winter brew for his clutching set up! One of the best $$ spent for me on my 13 XM
.

Suspension setup on the rear skid makes a huge differece. Try tightening limiter strap and setting rear torsion springs to 5 on the blocks. The xm's ride very light up front which makes them agile but takes away from the climbing. This keeps the front end down better and allows the skid to stay on top instead of trenching down.
Good luck

First you are comparing a 163 to a 154. It most likely is not a power issue as difference in flotation. But as others have said good clutching makes BIG differences.

Sent from somewhere on the move.

I have both a 2012 ski doo freeride 154 and 2014 ski doo summit x and the 12 runs better than the xm. I have tried both sleds this year already and i can out run my new one but it has a j&t performance can. We will see after i get the same can on both and do a race against each other. I was riding last year on the 12 against 13s and i would out run 163s on hills and it was faster than them.
