Stuck throttle! CRASH! Need help with a question.

A friend of mine has (had) a 2009 Dragon 800 less than 500 miles. This weekend his throttle rolled on him after hitting a bump and caused it to stay at approximately half throttle. He fell off and the sled took off down a hill center punching a tree, totalling the sled. My question is, does the dealer or the manufacturer have any liability in a situation like this?

x2...that is what a tether cord is for...Don't ride agressive with out one!

Yep.

I'm guessing the handguard mounts and throttle rolled relative to each other? I've had mine do that before, usually it ends up being that I can't grab more throttle; it acts as a stop rather than pinning it down. That's why I put the tether on, in case I do somethign dumb and the handguard mounts do pin the throttle.

Just make sure to use the tether.... see a lot of people riding with it secured to the handlebars.
