If AC made a;

M800, 160hp 435lbs (crate weight not dry weight) $11,500

M1000, 165hp 455lbs $12,500

M1100T, 183hp 505lbs $15,500

or close to it and it handles like a M or better.

I just hope they get some demo rides going to get people a chance to see the difference between the 2 stroke and 4 stroke. I think a lighter 4 stroke turbo with a controller and a little clutching, putting out some huge horsepower on cheap gas would be nice.

I think your prices are low..I would bet 13000 for a m-8, 14000 for the 1000, and 17000 for the 1100T...since the 12 pro is 12200 and the etec is over 13000......I think I would have to ride all 3 before I commited to one...

My dealer has had demo rides every year for as long as I can remember. But from what I wrote what would you take.

I would take the 1000 and give twisted a call.

I would have to go with the m8....unless they address the issues that go along with the 1000. I am not a tweaker. I keep em pretty stock and keep em pull and go.So the extra 5hp wouldn't matter as much as the the 20lbs.

11500 would be great. The m8 162sp was 11,800 last yr. I found a dealer lettin the snocheck m8 for 10400 out the door + tax....couldn't swing it last year....but maybe this yr!!!!:light:

Give the 4-stroke a year to see how it performs.

Our Regional John Deere Rep was riding in Island Park recently with a group of local farmers and saw the new cats climbing in the tree's at Reas Peak in Island Park. He watched as they climbed a slope multiple times on a 2011 M8 and the new sled. The new sled they were riding was a 2-stroke and he said it was getting approx 40 yards higher each time with both sleds in a fresh line.

They watched til the group left and then went over to check out the hill on his '09 turbo. Yes he did climb higher along side their highmark, but he said he'd be perfectly satisfied with a stock sled based on the performance of the 2-stroke cat was testing that day.

I guess we'll all know next week....

m 1000

M1000 a thing of the past.

Also remember that 180 HP is at altitude compare to the m8 going to be 123 . Yes the new m800 will kick the 11 in every aspect except down hill monovering I think the 16 inch high spindle will hinder .

I think the 1100 turbo will be fun not perfect but with the factory ecu running the boost and controlling fueling even turned up to 300 HP will be one of the most turn key sled. But at 15500 will be pricey.I think by Feb 1012 aftermarket will have a fix for the front end.

I will be shocked if crate weight on the new m800 is not 415-420 the new chassis look to be at least 15 lb lighter.

I can not wait to get some seat time.

Have you had a chance to see yamaha's snow check ?
Snowcheck and get turbo or super charger for 1500 I think good step on there marketing.

the biggest thing is what is the ski stance.if its as narrow as the M then it should be the same because the weight well still be low and the front susp well be way better with the new a-arms.it looks like a strong tunnel.now if they can just make a steering post that won't break and a clutch that doesn't blow up and conections that well keep water out.:light:

Not stating any facts just curious, I still think there will be a 1000

The 1100 will still loose power unless the ecu increases the boost way up to make up the difference at high elevation.

Yes and I Still don't want a yami

I will put $20 on no 1000.I think I would do the 1100 turbo in snow check all white and orange and then drop it off at glenn Halls place for a week or so.then spend the entire summer working 80hr weeks to pay for it

white & Orange 1100 sp turo?

Wow why would you think they would do an all white sled with orange trim. That would look kind of cool.:face-icon-small-win

If the m8 is that price I will be on a pro 600 next year. I really wanted a new cat. I want to try the new chassis, love the reliability of them over the years, and I like the new cat dealer in town and really want to support them. But I really only have 10,000 to spend (even that is pushing it for me) and even then I'm not happy with the price of a 600 being that high.
