Giving ruffryder a hard time is like playing pinball at 7-11.

I am trying to think of a good comeback from that.... but everything I put together just makes me look worse.

Dang you... Once snopes gets on the ball with your letter, I will be back.

P.S. CNN reported he played basketball with the troops and met with them afterwords. ;) But maybe they didn't get the forward in their email yet?

It's all so clear now, he canceled his plans to go visit with our troops on our bases in Germany today. Thought it would be in appropriate. If you can't give our troops anymore thanks and appreciation than simple photo ops for your own politcal gain, you're unworthy of being the commander in chief.

Everything I've read says it's true. He went to Bagram for a briefing, and didn't meet any troops.

Obama and fellow senators Jack Reid and Chuck Hagel got a briefing from U.S. General Jeffrey Schloesser, the commander of NATO-led forces in the east and U.S.-led coalition forces across the country at Bagram airfield, close to the capital Kabul.

"Following the briefing, the senators were able to meet service members from their respective states at Bagram, and also at Jalalabad Air Field," the U.S. military said in a statement.

Reuters Example

Actually, I'm surprised any troops would really want to meet him. :) Don't they have to pull rank to get service members to meet with Obama or Clinton?

Well someone asked for it, so here it is:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/afghanistan.asp

and here is video of him shaking hands with troops:
http://cbs4.com/local/obama.media.press.2.778269.html

Reply from anothe soldier:
CPT Porter wasn't even there. He claims Obama went to play
basketball with troops, which isn't true. Obama went to the Headquarters
buildings to have meetings with the Generals and then he flew to meet
soldiers at Jalalabad. CPT Porter lied and said that he played basketball
with troops at Bagram, when fact of the matter is - is that he got this
info from reading the newsheadlines that say he played bball in Kuwait. I
met Sen Obama and I've also submitted photos of him in Afghanistan for you
to view. He thanked me for my service and was forever grateful for the
sacrifices me and my family are making while I am out here.

I am disgusted to be serving alongside a liar like Captain Porter, I hope
he gets court martialed for lying.

While some of the facts in the email were untrue, for instance the playing basketball while in Afghanistan, it is true that only the service men and women from Illinois were invited to meet with him while there. He did shake a few hands here and there. (photo op). As for your posting a quote about him hopefully being court martialed, you've obviously had much more access to the other point of view and have chose not to post them as they differ from your point of view.
