Wildcat Primary?

I was going through my 1991 Wildcat 700 yesterday and I found that it has a green/yellow primary spring (4500rpm engagement). My shop manual for it indicates that it should be a red spring (3200-3600rpm). The manual goes on to say that the green/yellow spring is for over 4000ft elevation or for mountain cats, I am neither (88ft above sea level and a 121" track).

Now for a little back story. Last winter (the winter I bought it) It had a crappy track (remedied with almost new studded track 144 studs), but it wouldn't rev too much past 7500rpm. So because of the track I didn't really notice the higher engagement due to zero traction.

So my question is - with the new track 3/4" camoplast track (unknown model), 144 1.175" studs and stock gearing what spring should I run to give me slightly higher than stock engagement and the same max rpm?

Thanks for your help...

Larry i had a '90 Mtn. cat with a 136" 1.50 track that spun all day at 8300-8400r's Had a yellow/green spring and 20/39 gearing. Is this a EFI sled or carbed? Make sure the pipes are sealed tightly at all joints and no cracks? I have a set of twin pipes and muffler if you need? They are for the carbed version. Hope you get this worked out! Mike
