Did compression checks on my sleds today
02-800 125 /120 (PTO )-about 2800 miles
02-800 124/120 (PTO )- about 2950 miles
02-700 125/123 (PTO )- about 2500 miles
All done cold WO throttle no plugs in . Should I change pistons this year or try and make it through the year? Do I need to check with the motor warm at all ? Thanks for any info

compression if stock motors are fine , my wifes 01 800 has 6500 miles on it and stock pistons in it, so Id say there good to go, crank seals or reed valve will cause the motors to go before a bad piston

Pistons

Skirt fatigue at 300 hours is an issue so at 6500 miles it is safe to bet on replacing pistons before the big blow up! Been there and got the $1800 t shirt for not investing $300 in a top end rebuild.

yep,me too.The crank seals prolly need to be replaced and the bearings prolly need isoflex by now anyways
