Just wondering if anyone has ever tried the 3/16" polaris brand 4 wheeler winch rope for their sled recoil rope? Seems like good stuff and i hear it's strong as hell. Seems nice and flexible too. It comes in a 50' package for $49.99. If it's the same or similar to the "phantom" rope or what others sell like SLP for $4.20 per foot, it'd be a hell of a deal at only $1.00 a foot.

Yep I have used it along with multiple other riding partners, it works excellent. It feels weird pulling a sled over with that stuff, it has no give so you really feel the compression.

If you go straight to the manufacvturer or distributor it is 50 cents a foot.

The guy I bought my sled from a couple of years ago put parachute pull rope on the sled I have. Has worked good since I have had it. not sure on the price though.

I'm not sure if it's Polaris winch line, but I do use Blue colored Synthetic Winch Line (1 ft longer than stock) on my 900 and love it.

Thanks guys. I just bought the polaris winch rope. With my discount it comes to $.80 per foot. I can live with that. Definitely tough stuff.

The winch line is 2500lb burst strength (stock is 1200). Fantom is 5500lb burst.... thus the price difference. I get it from the distributor. That is why Fantom is cheaper than SLP. Beside, red is preferred by women 5:1......

X2!!

If you've ever broken your recoil in the backcountry, you wont cheap out on your rope...I'm sticking with the Fantom Rope!!

Plus, it's not just the burst strength, it's also the abrasion resistance!!...the Fantom rope can take a serious beating and still wont break!!
