Cut and past from another thread that was posted in the 900 section.

DMJ1: DET sensor mod
Does anyone know if you can modify, tap into DET sensor or wiring
to hook up an l.e.d or light to come on when an 2005 900 rmk
goes into detonation ??? kind of like the old polaris 800 rmks did by flashing
check engine light.

The DET sensor is more or less a glorified microphone... you need something to decode that information...

The "Knock Lite" is good for that...It will display various levels of DET...

I'd piggyback a seperate DET sensor on top of the stock one for this....seperate the two with a small OD hard SS washer (3/8 ID, 1/2" OD) and use a longer bolt... then there is no possibility of corrupting your signal going into the ECU...

Detonation or "knocking" can destroy an engine in no time flat leaving you with a repair bill that can cost you thousands of dollars. So how do you KNOW that you are knocking BEFORE it's too late? The TurboXS KnockLite (TM) will detect even minor, inaudible detonation and flash the multicolored LED to alert you to the knock so that you can do something about it before it's too late. The KnockLite is a must-have product for anyone that is modifying their engine for more power. The KnockLite wires into either your factory knock sensor or into separate knock sensor (sold separately) that is mounted to your engine block.
Knocklite is a cheap insurance when you`re tuning and racing your engine, especially on hot days when intake temps get too high!

We use to run the that turbo xs light on our Yamaha turbos a few years back, they are nice and small. It never messed up because of moisture issues either. You can also program it to read different levels of knock.
You can get them off ebay very reasonable, along with universal knock sensors.

MH is there a way to activate the light on the sled itself? Doesnt the new 800 update inlcude this? I though I remember some talk about it awhile back.
