Of late I have seen a whole lot of this problem:

"Database Error".
"The database has encountered a problem."

This appears when attempting to post or when trying to update a page.

We think we have located the source of this problem and are trying to correct it this weekend.

if your seeing this error as well, please report it here.

Problem was located and a partial solution has been implemented.

This problem should be greatly reduced now, and should be eliminated completely next week.

was seeing it a bunch last week, about the time the "new" forums were implemented. usually when using the "back" button, then it would shut down the site and i would have to re-load it.
figured it was just some growing pains....

It appears to be both a hardware and a software issue.
The software portion was fixed last night around 1:00am

I am going to try to get the hard side fixed this coming week.

Server Error
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request.
JRun closed connection.

I would say it's broken also.

SORRY EVERYONE!

they seem to have some other web-sites running on this server that rely on Cold Fusion.. and the cold fusion engine had basically crashed, which brought down the whole web server with it.

Looks like the web server didn't like cold fusion being restarted out from underneath it

I restarted the web server too and we're back to normal now

It would appear that the error is SIGNIFICANTLY more complicated that I first thought.

I only have access to 2 of the Harris Publishing servers.

There appears to be a third server that all of the other Harris websites are linking back to that is involved The the COLD FUSION errors.

The other sites are suffering MUCH WORSE than SnoWest.

I have done everything I can to isolate the SnoWest site from the others this evening, so I think "WE" will be ok, but the rest of the sites will not fair so well till tomorrow morning.

Come on man!!! I pay too much for this forum to put of with this.;):beer;
SORRY DUDE.
Honestly I am doing the absolute best I can to resolve the problems right now.

But the ENTIRE HARRIS web crashed on me.
And my "mandate" is only to serve and protect SnoWest, not the entire corporate server system.

So I am already stepping way out of bounds just doing what I have done to make sure THIS one site stays up tonight!

Isn't that basically the same reason SnoWest forums moved from taht fusetalk junk to vbulletin?

Maybe it's time to migrate the rest of them to a non-sucky software package....
