WTH - No exhaust valve springs?

While working over my 07 600 project, cleaning the power valves, there are no springs in them. aren't they supposed to have springs like my older 02 800?

What would running with no springs do?

Yes, supposed to have springs. Running without will allow valves to stay open = less power on bottom end.
