So doing research and trying to head towards the TRS clutching setup. These all hinge around the use of the TCP lightening weights.

I have secondary setup dialed and enough primary springs to make about anything work. Just trying to sort out weights.

Does anyone have pictures of the lightning weights, possibly on a pin comparing them to a 10 series or something of that nature? Since the lightning weights are not super easy to come by, trying to understand how/what makes them work so good and see if there is anything else on the market I could be using instead.

Man it sucks but the picture isn't showing anymore, atleast not on my screen.

But Tory posted up some comparison photos of the 10-series vs the Lightning TCP.

In the Part 3 thread you can see some other photo comparisons.

I was looking last night at some of the weights that Justin is sending out with his kits now that are the set screw down the length of the weight style so you don't have to pull them to adjust em. The profile seems incredibly similar to a Lightning weight or 10-series. Definitely a better profile than the older Venom's I used to run.

Thanks for those. Looks like a LOT of them share almost identical shift profile, the big change being the "tuck" of the weight. Also the TCP weigths hold a lot more mass out toward the tip where a standard 10 series tapers Off and carries a lot of its weightin the center.

You are correct, the new set screw loaded silber ones have a lot more mass all the way to the tip so the weight is thick enough to handle the screw all the way in. I might just have to yank those out of the turbo sled and play with them.. they get ALMOST light enough when gutted. Might be able to make something work.

Dan @ Indy specialties came thought big time. Got me a set of his Lightning weights sent overnight. Getting it all put in and going to flog it this weekend. Excited to see what kinda gains we can make in performance as well as lowering belt temps. Full write up to come.

Hold the weights down to a flat surface so you can compare the tuck. A few thousandths at the heal can be a lot out at the tip. And that makes a huge difference.

Is Dan making his “lightening” weights EXACTLY the same now? I ran a set (that look like yours) a couple rides last season and they did not act the same whatsoever.
