I drove a 17 last week and the power is impressive , and I have a '13 that has all the power I need. Only complaint I would have is I wonder if they changed brands on the injectors as I swear you hear the typical tick of the diesel going down the highway more , definitely louder than my 13.
Interior is visibly larger , 4" longer wheel-base and all went to interior. They sit up taller than previous models. Can't wait to see one with 35's under it.

Thanks for the first hand report!

the "diesel knock" you refer to all has to do with fuel injection timing (the time the injector opens and sprays fuel into the cylinder in correlation to the piston reaching top dead center.)

i have a tune on my 6.7 cummins that will make it sound like an old, rattling 5.9.......and i can turn it off and on at will. check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siQ-cw0CGgg

No thanks. The dealer wanted 25000 difference for a 17 king ranch. Mine is a platinum 16 with 33000 miles. I like to buy high and sell low but doing that deal would be about as dumb as voting for Hillary.

Holy smokes, that's insane! 25k to boot, to gain 1 year. I don't know the specifics on a king ranch vs Platinum...... But they are both high end models. Did you laugh in the salesman's face?

That makes a lease look like a pretty good deal

I don't think any dealers on HD trucks with diesel motors is moving much. I know GM can't get enough of the trucks out there. They are selling fast. I like the diesel movement. More cars and trucks with diesel please.
