Hi!

Have a m8 2011 and if i look in the 2010 or 2011 service manuals, it said 1.417" BUT my sled ran like ****. I put the old adjustment , 2009 and less, 1.377" and it ran way better.
Is it a sign of worn cable or the right length is really 1.377"?

M8 apv cable adjust

First post on here. I recently got a 2010 M8 and cleaned the power valves, checked the cable lengths and confused, my manual says 1.437 for the 800 and I see someone else says there's is 1.417 and another 1.377. I had set them at 1.437 but haven't started it yet because I ran into an issue adjusting them to 1.437, if I measure to one side of the barrel to the end of housing according to manual diagram I don't have enough adjustment, so I set them 1.437 from the cable side of the barrel to the flange on the cable housing. First off what does everyone think the right length is and has anyone run into the lack of enough adjustment issue. Any and all input greatly appreciated.

2010 M8HO - is the consensus still 1.377”/34.9758mm?

I ask because I just saw a Speedwerx tool listed on Country Cats web site which has 36.5mm stamped right on the tool. Says it is for the 2010-2020 600-800cc. 8639-126 is the part number.

And, a quick, easy tool to measure cable slack is to take an old credit card, fold it tightly in half, and cut to 35mm. place it over cable to see how much slack there is. I cut mine a tad longer than 35, then filed down to 35mm.
