M7 Primary clutch replacement question

Ok so the 06' m7 clutch part# 0725-527 (8.5") is no longer it has been replaced by the Part# 0746-416 (8.25"). Has anyone made this replacement. The only difference is the diameter right? Everything else should be the same right, run the same belt etc.....?

i don't remember the part number but a couple years ago i replaced my m7 clutch with one for an 08 m8 which i believe is the 8.25" diameter and have had no issues.

only thing that changed was the size. the same belt should work fine, i've been running my replacement(#416) for a few years. be sure not to buy a newer m6,m8,m1000, clutch, they are the same size and crand taper but they have metric thread, and your m7 uses a English standard thread. also be ware of the earlier f series 8" clutch, these are too small and your belt will climb up out of the clutch and over the towers.

8" clutch

So, if the belt will climb out of an 8" clutch, has this happened to the guys running the P85 Polaris primary clutches on their M7s?
