dealer have a Cat program for trade the right clutch setup for your altitude when you buy the sled.

Personnally, if you can, keep 48degree helix. 66-49.20 are for trail rider

Digging this back up.

My father is pulled the trigger on an Alpha (lucky guy). We live and ride mostly in Maine so 3000 feet is about the top of the world here. Why do you say to keep the stock helix opposed to the low elevation helix?

I had my dealer swap my 18 to the low elevation kit and I had a blast last season. I'm just curious what I'm giving up with that helix.

We are going to Tog in January for the first time. I've got weights and a spring on order, sounds like i need to change the helix as well??

it is easier to utilize the single straight rate helix for both high and low elevation. the big swing rates for low elevation, trail riding, corner to corner acceleration, and on trail fuel economy, dont work very well at elevation. your results may vary. Ski
