My advice is go 165 its just as nimble but more track and get up in the deep snow I didn't have the 154 to ride but I would say you would of had a wheelie monster the 165 wheelied just stock so definitely the 165 if you are into the steep trees you'll really like it!
Honestly I am just buying a 154 because I already dominate old fat guys like 1500psi. It's really not fare. I feel bad when I ride with him. I would have got a 124 if they have them in Gen 4 so he could have a chance keeping up with me on his 174.

Also if you are a bigger, heavier, taller guy a longer track sled is more proportional to your size. I'm 6'4' 245 and I fit the longer track sleds just like a pencil neck midget like Chadly fits his 120cc parking lot sled. Also set up, shocks and aftermarket suspension makes a HUGE difference. Not to mention riding technique. I put a toms emotion on my big bore 174 and the effect was dramatic. But I've seen great riders on stock 174s and they don't seem to have any trouble keeping the nose down while climbing.
If I buy a 17 it'll be a 165. But I'll keep my 174 and sell my 163.
Good post Matte, everyone's different and being the same, almost exact but a few LB's, agree. 174 or new 165 with mods for biggies, 154 for little dudes, everyone Happy.
Never get stuck 10 times in a day. Maybe three and I can assure you I am not taking the easy way. If you don't get stuck you are taking that easy way. .Anyone can go straight up a hill. The great thing about having handlebars is you can turn out. I don't get why you won't let this go. Not a right or wrong issue.
Wish they would of left the shorty track to the 800etec, and had the 174 in the snowcheck for 17... Pretty sure they would of sold a ton more.. Doo could of put a serous hurt on the others
Rest assured everyone I bought a 154 just to shut 1500psi up about track length. Truth be told with 1500psi he has a big track, big hands, and big feet. I guess 3 out of 4 isn't so bad for him...
They sold every summit allotted in less than 7 days. There was only so many 850 summits available. They are all sold out.
Two Dealers I called last Tuesday both had more than most of what they had allocated still available to sell.. And most of the ones sol were 165..
Would of checked one if they had them in 174
I'm still waiting till April 15th cuz that's the day, it's always the day. If they really don't make a 175+ like I said I'm gonna save a bunch of money cuz im not buying no fawking 165 just so the following year it'll be out.
