Who knows, might just be an issue with manufacturing another length track in a new design. My guess is that the 174 will come around, it'll just take some time

Heard Nerona say that the 165 out climbed the 174 from less weight and bigger hp.. Lots of rotating weight removed there..

Not sure how it will compare in holding the skis down in the steep under boost

That ends that debate quickly

Not everyone is fat and needs a tractor to get them up the hill in 7 tries. Some people only need a 163 T3 to get up the hill in one try and proceed to do it ten times, two I might add from starting half way up the hill from a side hill :face-icon-small-coo

Your skinny little *** couldn't even make it on a 163" without seriously poaching and making me wait for an hour so don't be making it sound like the tractor doesn't out perform the mini me. Now that you've bought 2 gauge pods two rides in a row trying to sidehill to the right, how much do those things retail for anyways?

When the T3 was introduced two years ago wasn't the 163" announced a couple of weeks after the 174"?

Another post Norona mentioned he did a steep and deep climb on the 850cc 165, then jumped on the etec 800, 174 and could not even get up the same line in the 850cc tracks.. This new sled climbs that much better.. That's hugggge

Frankly I don't buy the idea the shorter track will out perform the 174...think everyone is getting a little too caught up in the moment on that one. But we shall see. I expect prepped 174s to still be King Kong most of the time.

Not to say the 165 won't be a blast..it will. But I too will keep my money and 174 till the next long one comes out. I will have a shop sled 165 for testing of course though ;)

165 vs 174... Isn't that only a difference of like 4 inches that is actually touching the snow?? So basically you get like one more paddle on the snow. It amazes me how this actually makes a difference, but I know it does because 174's do climb better than 163's. However, with all the new 2017 changes: weight savings, better clutching, increased hp, less rotational track weight, improved chassis, you would think stock vs stock, a 2017 165 850 would outclimb a 2016 174 800, not to mention have increased agility...
