Well are you going to be converting to a mountain sled? What kind of hp are looking for? How deep are your pockets? So if you are going to be converting to a mtn sled this is what I would do:
-Get a 09-10 600r so you get the updated light front suspension, and the new 600 motor to do the 800 mono conversion like I did.
-Either change the tunnel out with a VE or do their ext. and get a U cooler so you can utilize the top of the tunnel
-Change out the rear skid due to the weight of the racing skid and the horrible approach angle. If you don't do this it will be a trenching fool. Either Ez Ryde, holz, timbersled, or rmk/dragon skid works great. Just depends how much you want to spend
- Go with the the Challenger extreme 2.5" track, its the best track for both worlds.
-Oil inject it for the convience
-800 mono block conversion is cheap and in-expensive for the hp gains. Keep it a single pipe for better mountain riding.
-Regear and clutch for better track speed and engagement
-Holtzman ATACC significantly made my sled run so much better.
- Different skis for better deep snow floatation and handling. These sleds are very aggressive on the steering.
This will give you a start.
