Looking at eliminating the stock fuel filter on my PRO Ride.
Then replacing the tank pickup with the AXYS sock filter/pickup. They are available from SPI for less than $60.
Anyone try this?

Tony : let us know here as I think I would like to do this also! If it works for the AXYS it should be OK on the PRO chassis I would think.

Here it is.
I removed the hard line from the sock and installed the sock on the original hose from the pump.
I removed the fuel rail fitting from a stock filter assembly and ran 5/16 fuel injection hose to the tank. Napa had the Dorman fuel line connector.
Used 15.3 oetiker clamps on the assembly. Polaris part 7081502, Doo part 293650047.
I’ll test it this weekend. It runs the same in the shop so......I think this is going to work great.

Headed to Cooke in the morning.
I believe there is a benefit fund raiser for the Avalanche Center in Cooke tomorrow.Cooke City Sled Fest - May 19

Posted on the Centers site.
Sledders, mark your calendar for May 19, the 2nd Annual Sled Fest in Cooke City. It’s a fundraiser for the Friends of the Avalanche Center and there will be a DJ, raffle prizes and BBQ on the mountain.

Yep, works just fine. I think this is a great upgrade to the PRO fuel system.

Great turnout for the Avy Center fund raiser. Lots of wobble pop getting consumed.

I frkin love u. My pro fuel system sits diassembled cuz I gave up on trying to find fittings to get rid of the old fiel line system. I didn't want to make it all mickey mouse so I hadn't thought about it in months. Now i am reinvigorated. Any more parts numbers please post them for my lazy ***.

How long does the axys sock last before needing to be changed? Tryig to wrap my head around an easy external filter to change vs an internal sock and the pros/cons.

Gregg has over 7,000 miles on his now turboed ‘16 AXYS and it hasn’t been changed. The sock is an easy install.

How are you securing the sock to/near the bottom of the tank? Your picture just shows the rubber hose going to the sock.... What keeps the sock from lifting up and not getting all the fuel out of the tank?

The automotive world started removing inline fuel filters in about 2005, and only use the sock on the pump. Fuel pumps last 100-150,000 miles pretty easily.

That is a good question. The sock is fairly stiff along with the original PRO formed hose. I really don’t see a difference between the mounting in an AXYS.

Only reservation I have is that the automotive world doesn't run fuel finicky 2 stroke engines.
