Has anybody tried the Gates 44c4553 belt? You can pick them up for around $80.00.

Buddy of mine has one on his VOHK sled and has good results so far and I heard that Matt Entz recommends them.

Anyone else have any input? I cant make the $180.00 Polaris belt last more than 2 rides @ 11 psi....

i've been running the gates carbon one
on advise from TRS
on my turbo 8lbs
and it's working great
i didn'y have a chance to break it in because it was deep everywhere and it still has held up well
2-300 miles in extremely deep heavy load snow and it looks great :face-icon-small-hap
i'll keep ya'll updated as it wears
but for now looks like i won't be spending $180 on 115 again

Has anyone run the dayco belts? I ran then on my cats with good luck and they have warranty if you blow one... Although it takes a while for a new one to show up so you still have to buy another belt

It's not just about replacement, I tried the Dayco and when they fail they don't just pull strings, they blow up. When the blow they can do a lot of damage and make a huge mess, not to mention you can go over the bars. Cat 048 belts and the Polaris 115 seem to fail more gracefully.

Yeah I guess that is true when I blew my polaris belt I was able to clean it all up without a knife which was nice, daycos were always a pain to clean the cords, but it did explode pretty good on me, I always ran dayco on my cat too guess ill have to try the cat belt next or gates that people mentioned on my pro.

Now if only there was a cheaper quick drive replacement I dont know about

If your blowing polaris 115 often at 11psi im guessing your motor mounts and or torque stop mount are worn allowing to much twist. I get 600+miles per belt with 10psi at 6000ft. And never had one blow just started to pull threads from side. If clutches get wet youll blow belts too

I would check alignment. All of the Pros I have checked have been out. Both shim stack ups have been incorrect and required different thickness of shims

Already done that. Right within .030". Polaris says the tolerance with their alignment tool should be within .060".

**UPDATE**

I am currently running the GATES belt. I have around 80-90 miles at 10+ psi with no issues. Belt feels more responsive and is holding together great!

The gates C12 is a great belt ! I could not get the polaris 115 belt to make it through one good hard ride and I put 600 miles on the gates C12 last year running 8 # with a 3" track
