THAT was an awesome story!
What a great way to start my morning on SnoWest reading about your exploits.
Quite the adventure you guys had.

I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of sending out a PM to all the SnoWest Members alerting them to your new teaser, and copied your graphic as part of it.

The teaser is terrific, and if that is any indication of what the full movie has in store for us, its going to be a LONG HOT DRY SUMMER of waiting to see it!!

I have some stuff to sell too...I was wondering how I can get a copy of the email list to send out a mass emailing?

I hope, in fairness, this will be done with the rest of the movie makers that have teasers out too.

What a crying shame you would say something like that.

Just for the record.

I have never met nor spoken to Jim.
He, nor any member of his business approached, asked or requested that I send out that PM.
It should arrive in his PM basket as a total surprise.
He did not buy nor rent the SnoWest E-Mail list, as it is not available for purchase nor rent.

I watched the teaser, was greatly impressed with it, read his post this morning and thought that most of the SnoWest members would enjoy it.
So I sent out a PM to all of them.

There was nothing for sale.
No links to a store.
No pre-orders.

Just letting members know about something cool to come and read about in summer while waiting for the next season to begin.

Funny which half of my comment you focus on.

I'm confused...wasn't the story and teaser posted for all to see and read already?

The sled betties just released a teaser..and website, but I got no notice of it...and what a story too...first all female movie in the history of snowmobiling!

Plus several more teasers have come out in the past few weeks.

Were the other movies makers and their teasers not worthy?

This was the only one you liked enough to bestow this honor too?

Yes, I did make a choice.
Given the amount of hate mail that ANY PM I send out generates, I pick and choose rather gingerly.

I thought this particular teaser was excellent and would appeal to nearly every single member of SnoWest.

So "I" alone made the call to send out a note to all the members of SnoWest encouraging them to come and take a look.

As the summer progresses, you can be sure I will do similar things for others as well.

Just for the record.... The sledbetties website is up and running sledbetties.com but no teaser has been released yet.... I believe some of the girls have put their own footage together to share, but the official teaser will not be released until this summer.

First thanks for moving the posts to a separate area...where probably no one will see it :face-icon-small-con. I mean if the general area needs its threads promoted how well will this do? I was actually going to start my own thread but then saw your post on the TS9 thread and replied.

As the administrator of this site showing preferential treatment to one advertiser is just insane. And that is exactly what you have done.

Do you not see that this is a great marketing advantage that you have bestowed on one of several talented snowmobile movie producers? With some people only buying one movie a year you may have just sealed the fate for the smaller upstart companies joining the frey this year.

Could you also change the title of the thread to "comments" instead of "complaints"

another sad attempt to label and control peoples opinions:face-icon-small-fro

are you kidding me???

Its a 6 minute commercial for the product they are selling...that you just hand delivered to 40,000+ confirmed snowmobilers...almost impossible to achieve without your doing.

And you did it all for free....while others have to pay just to be here?????

How do you guys not get this???

There are a number of filmmakers on here & you just randomly picked one of them (I won't mention the one obvious connection that I see, but I don't want to get into that discussion).

The fact that you don't get why people find this inappropriate is just yet another example.

There are a number of them out there that bust their butts to put out a good product, but as the head poobah you felt that Jim's vid was the only one worth advertising & don't have a clue why people would be bothered b this.

You just live in a different world from most of us.

Oh, and Kevin... the delete button works just fine, I just tested it.

Hey Christopher,

I'm gonna give ya the benefit of doubt. I suspect the preview got ya all jacked up and you just wanted to share. I can relate to that.

These fellows are right. It doesn't look very good. I think maybe if you could do a little homework(not punishment...LOL) and search out any other posts about some of the other riders making vids and send out a PM for each of them with the link it might be a cool gesture.

Just my 2 cents, thanks...now I gotta go check out the trailer

I didn't like it... oh wait, I just deleted it...
It isn't fair ... oh wait, life isn't fair...

Who would have known, such a simple pm would cause this much discontent from snowest users...

This message will self destruct in 3, 2, 1

SO then just because Mr Christopher (claims he has no ownership in the forum, just an admin) likes ts, he advertises them to everyone on the forum... that you're ok with.

It's one thing posting, or starting a thread, but putting out a mass PM that everyone on the forum is required to act on in order to get past it, is a whole different deal.

Sure man, he thought there was something cool to see... big whip..

It is a different deal because you didn't get an as important pm as you thought? :face-icon-small-sho You are not required to do anything. All you see is that you have one new pm.. You don't even have to see it.. Like I don't even read pm's I get from diamonddave...:face-icon-small-ton Just kidding man.. I read them, then I delete them right afterwords... lol

This travesty must not go unpunished!! This is an outrage, how dare he!!! This is it, I am outta here...

Here I went..

I moved your comments out of the thread that Jim started as it has nothing to do with his teaser, and everything to do with your objection to my actions. It belongs here, not there.

As for the more serious accusation about favoritism of one advertiser over another.

Sorry, but that is simply NOT true.

Neither...
Digital Dream Pictures
nor
Jim Phelan Films
nor
BigSkyX

are on the current list of paid sponsors for SnoWestOnline that corporate has provided me.

So, far as I know, they are NOT an advertiser here.

As for the other companies.
The summer is still young, and there are plenty of opportunities still remaining to share great material with the SnoWest members.

Several SnoWest members have written to me today asking if I would be continue sending out notices of other material that is of the same caliber as this was over the course of the summer.

Depending on the Hate to Praise ratio, that might worthwhile thing to do.
