No, I think you're thinking is skewed, in reality thats another of the reasons the other sites exist, and this one is becoming a lot lesser in importance to a large group of folks. 4m's have traditionally been free sites because they depend on the members for all of the content, conflict, paid advertising, humor, for sale items, local riding conditions, update info on sleds, complaints about certain performance issues, advancements and enhancements on go fast stuff, suspension tips, and I could go on.
Now I'm not entering the debate here, cause I could care less other than the entertainment value, but I am struggling a bit to see the logic of selling the right to enjoy that info back to the ones who contributed it.
And I'm suggesting that you, being obviously a suck-up and butt ki$$ing kinda guy, will choose to support that move cause of your need to conform with an authority regardless of what it is.......right.

I agree with KSH, so maybe direct some of your negativity at me too while you are at it.
And for what its worth, maybe the ten bucks spent here would be a better investment than all the blood pressure meds an angry fella like yourself is gonna need.
You may call it "conform" and it obviously pains you, but most see it as "getting along with each other", "a group effort" and maybe even "supporting a worthy cause".......
If you *REALLY* don't feel this is right, then exercise your right of choice and leave.

If you are attempting to use SnoWest and it's services to advertise for competing commercial sites, then the internal software may well be kicking into effect.
But that is not "moderation" as I thought you were saying.
No moderators, nor myself, have the ability to change, edit, or alter a PM. But the universal filters should be working on everything on this site.

First , I never suggested the other site was so great, second it will be quite easy to find some negativity towards someone so obviously close minded and whose opinion of their own importance is so over inflated. An you know what buttercup, I am anything but angry even when reading dumb-a$$ responses like you posted, probably a reflection in your mirror, and .... I don't care if I get along with the whole community, especially if it contains other pompous self important asses like you who beak off cause you think all of us really care what YOU think.

I am not advertising for "the other site" by any means or trying to stir things up for you here. As you have noticed I'm sure, the Ak section is becoming a ghostown here. People are asking a legitimate question, where are we all going to? You and your filters are preventing us even in pm's to answer a question with an honest answer. That in itself is causing even more folks to want to jump ship here. Obviously, I still frequent this forum as well. Been here too many years to just walk away. I hope you do find a way to keep this site up and running the way it used to. Until then, I have two homes. And when poeple ask where home is, I will attempt to tell them. I don't have that problem on "the other site". They don't alter anything that I type.

Why shouldn't one member be able to communicate with another without being censored? I guess people are gonna have to get sneaky and talk in code in order to try to keep in touch with each other, give tech advice, suggest a product they should try out, etc when the information is not available on this website. That sounds brilliant to limit what people are allowed to "PM"(aka Private Message) each other. I can understand if someone was posting a link for pornography, swearing or anything that may be viewed as vulgar, but to post a link or say, "hey meet me at so and so site", why is that so scary to the powers that be? And by the way, I know I've already posted this twice, but it seems like it has been overlooked. Why was the thread moved to the longtrack lounge?

The topic being discussed here is reguarding PMs and what was originally posted by SNODAWG not post that are made in open forums. How about if you 2(yammy1320 and Slick) want to start a different topic, go do that. Otherwise please stay focused on this topic and post something intelligent reguarding it. There is already enough drama and high school attitude around here as it is.
