We have 4 - 2018 AXYS. 155, 2.6. All have had their belt deflection adjusters back out?

3 blown belts between 2 of the sleds.

Don't recall have any of these issues on our '16's?

Is the flexloc nut getting loose and then letting the screw adjuster back out? Have never had this problem with the Team secondary. You might want to contact them and ask what is going on. Maybe they changed something on the 18's. Please keep us advised.

Happened first ride on my 18 and burned the belt before I caught it. I ran it back in tight and it backed out again the next ride so I loctited it. Polaris warrantied it, new set screw/nut and belt. Have not ridden it since.

Same screw and nut all the way back to the Dragons.

But could be a bad batch of nuts??

Probably just not well snugged down at the factory.

BUT, don't over tighten it or you will find yourself breaking the screw.

Adjust it, then snug down the nut to 110 in-lbs (12 Nm) [just shy of 10 ft lbs]
Use some blue loctite under the nut.
DO NOT OVER-TORQUE

Sounds like assembly line issues to me..

Deflection method

From Polaris Service manual:

AXYS BELT DEFLECTION INSPECTION /
ADJUSTMENT

Measure belt deflection with both clutches at rest and in
their full neutral position.

Place a straight edge {1} on the belt and apply downward
pressure while measuring at point {2}. This measurement
should be 1 1/4 inches (3.2 cm).

To adjust belt deflection:
1. Loosen the 11 mm jam nut on the belt width adjuster
screw.

2. Using a 3 mm Allen wrench, turn the set screw inward
(clockwise) to increase the distance between the
sheaves (increase deflection) or outward (counterclockwise)
to decrease the distance (decrease
deflection).

3. Tighten the jam nut while holding the set screw
stationary.

when cat went to team clutches in 16 we have seen it a few times as it has about the same set up. Just need to be very careful as the tight and broken are just a very small torque ratio apart.:face-icon-small-blu

My 174 was having the adjuster screw back out about two or three times each day last year.
I geared it down to get rid of the clutch heat and have not had the problem since.

Happened on my 2018 163” as well on my first ride. Started as a light squeal and progressed into a loud squeal and then to the point that the sled would creep and move forward on its own before I looked to adjust it and found it backed off to the point of almost falling out

Had it happen to mine too. Seems like I have to run the nut WAY tighter then the speced 10 Ft lbs or it will come loose with ease.

Almost like the clutch threads are slightly loose or something.
