Brother just bought a 08 iqr, I don't know much about it whats the deal with the timing dial, where should we be running it we are around 700-1000 ft, running pump 92 octane, it's been trail converted with a rr oil and gas tank and a oil pump, also it has the race clutching in it still, what should we be running for a more trail friendly clutch setup, and my trailer can't take high engagement stud beating, also wondering about the 800 topend do guys run them carberated or do they put cfi on them, any help would be great, Thanks GG

Well you should really be running around 94 octane with the stock 600 from 08. They redesigned the head in 09 with lower compression. The timing should be set on G with 94 octane. I have the 800 mono on my 600 crank. It has been kinda pain to tune, but it when it runs it rips! With the conversion you use all the factory carbs and electronics. As for clutching, I would run a black/green stripe primary spring (120-310) with 10-60 gram weights. This should give you around 4000rpm engagement. Re jet to 390s and run it.
