I think it would be cooler to drop the 900 into a 670 chassis. :face-icon-small-ton

What would you gain over a 860 doo bb?

:amen: I agree, also for all the trouble your going to have to deal with getting that motor to mount up with the proper clutch alignment, and proper clutching. could be tricky. I would do the 860 BB and get the rooster built clutching set up. . . . It wouldn't be very hard to get the 900 in there and running, but unless you really know what your doing, its probably going to run worse than a stock Xp motor or BB would. Considering your looking for the chassis to drop that motor into im assuming you already have the motor, I guess this would be why your not looking at an 860 kit. If you could get it clutched, it could be cool. you would have to use the cat primary and doo secondary, getting them to corrospond properly could be a guessing game.

The Cat 900 was actually an 866cc, so your performance would be no better than stock, and not near as could as an 860bb.

the 900 with twin pipes would compare to a BB 860 doo and may be more but the mounting and pipes would be difficult. bullet proof engine though!

your a doyle if you mock others. don't rain on anyones ideas. 900 cat engines rock. switch cylinders around and put the pipes out the back and kick ***.

Do none of you realize that cat 900 bottom end can be bigbored to an 1150 and will really make them 860 look a little under powered.

I've ridden with few cat 900's and none of them could keep the pistons/cranks/clutches/jack shaft bearings together to make a season. And none of them could keep up to my REV with a 144. They are strong pulling motors and I'm sure setup their 151's would out climb me, but end of the day the lack of reliability put a very sour taste in my mouth

My dad rode his 900 cat for 4-5 seasons before the top end finally went. He's now running a D&D 1010 with twin pipes and it makes my xp and alot of M1000 look really slow when climbing. Thats why I think this would be a great idea to put a 1010 or 1150 in a xp chasis. So I'd be very interested to see if you get everything worked out and maybe see some build pics in the future.

Really? No Really!

The 900 triples were junk. The 900 twins are pretty much bullet proof.

Clutchs kind of suck, Ill give ya that. The 900 shakes a bunch and is hard on clutchs. But again the motor itself is tough.
