Snowmobiles are a expensive investment when you think about it .... Out west we are addicted to a new sled ever year or every other year just to keep up with joneses

Bottom line there is no difference between men and boys just the price of the toys. :face-icon-small-ton

As I ponder what the increase in price will be for 2017.

The rumor mill

I have only heard the rumor of a big bore 2 stroke around 888 from my friends who have some established relationships but the lips are going to be pretty tight until the dealer show.

Considering nearly every mountain sled ever built over the 800 class from all 3 brands has been a colossal failure...don't see the big bore thing happening.

Doo has a winner with the etec ..so reliable..most do not need a bigger motor..
Maintain same rider ergonomics
Narrow up plastics a few inchs and running boards and new airbox hood combo(easy 15-20 lbs savings there)
Possibly have the p-drive on for 17?
My money is waiting..

I tend to agree.
However, I wouldn't rule out forced induction.

The deals are crazy rigt now just picked up a t3 174 sp with estart for 13400 out the door! Wanted to snow check but it was going to be almost 18000! 4600 I think I can buy better shocks! Oh and 3 years warranty

Around here, 2016 t3 154 and t3 163 are out the door for under $10k (with 1 year warranty). 174 aren't much more. Maybe your price includes sales tax. So different regions can fairly compare, i don't consider tax part of the out the door price. So $10k with dealer prep and doc fee. Pretty amazing. That is about what we paid for my wife's 2015 600 154 with rebates last year.

Seeing guys asking $13k for 2015 used sleds with a couple hundres miles on them on craigslist. Bad time to want to, or have to, sell a used sled.

It is a bit frustrating, but the name of the game after how last winter went. I was $10,900 roughly out the door with my 2015 xm 600 154 last year. Sad when I could go walk into the same shop (summit) and grab a brand new 800 t3 which retails for like 3k+ over the 600...

As for new stuff, just maybe run the race flash in production sleds (factory race freerides flat haul ***) and a trimmed up plastic design, maybe make the hood suck less to take off (see axys)

I love doo stuff but they could take a note or two from polaris regarding ease of servicing and working on the sleds. Not that they break often and need work but I would rather work on a pro or axys 100:1 over an etec.

I can do a turbo kit on an axys and only take the quick connect hood parts off. start to finish 3 hours. on a xm its a full sled tear down and takes half a day easily. Also, simpler is lighter. That 100 piece stock hood airbox assembly is a joke, so expensive, so many parts and heavy to boot.
