Looking to upgrade track 06 REV

Hey all! I have a 06 rev 144 and I'm looking to upgrade the track. I kinda want to go a little longer and possibly a slightly taller paddle. What would be a cost effective way to make the sled hook up a little better in the steep and deep?
I had it in 3ft of pow last weekend and it did alright but would like to see it do a little more!!
Any suggestions?

it gets a little spendy by the time your completely done, but i really like my 151 and it was a good improvement over my old 141. the only issue is.... the 151x16x2.25 is near impossible to find, so you would have to get it brand new so like 700-800 bucks, another 150 or so for the tunnel extension, another 150 for a good set of rail extensions and if you have 10T drivers youll need to replace them with 9T drivers so add another 100 bucks there.

I guess the questions i have are, is the 154 XP track any good? Cuz they are 2.3" paddle right? And would a 2.3 paddle fit with 9T or 8T drivers??
Or should i go 146?
I guess i am open to options at this point. I do have a 8" 2 wheel kit on the way... so that might take up some slack if i did a 146..

I just stretched out my 144. I found a good deal on a 162 x 2.25 track and skid from an rt. Cost me $600 + $150 for a tunnel extension. Then I sold my old skid and track for $600 so it cost me $150 all together. I am so glad I decided on the 162. The added floatation, and traction is unbelievable, and it is just as easy to ride as ever. If I had it to do all over again there is no way I would go any shorter

Well i think i want to go with a 154. I found a track local for $150. It has a few junked up lugs but doesn't look too bad. He says it is off a 08 xp. Are the tracks any good? Here is a picture he posted of it:

There is a reason that skidoo doesn't use a ported track any longer but that's a hole different horse. You will still have to change your drivers going to that track.

Its true about those ports. They are WAY too big. But the biggest problem with that track is lug durometer. If I'm not mistaken that is the challenger lite off an '07. Super stiff lugs dig really big holes. Garbage track. That is no "upgrade" from what you have

If I were you I would find some 151 rails for your skid. Either put on a 151x16x2.25 with 2.52 pitch or a 159x16x2.25 with 2.52 pitch and a big wheel kit on backwards with the 151 rails. No extensions to break off and no changing drivers. The only 2,86 drivers that will fit on your shaft are for an 06 440mxz and hard to find used.

That is what I did to my 144, put a 154 off of an XP underneath. The track trenches if there is no base.

I used the skid off of the XP as well.

Drivers were 06 440's that I found used. It might worth it to buy new, the used ones ratchet if the track isn't pretty tight.

Love the conversion and very glad I did it.

I did the same thing you are about to do. I went from the 144 to a 162 and went to a 15" wide track. Yes a 15". Absolutely the best thing I did was longer and narrow. I could physically feel the weight difference between the 16x144 and the 15x162! The 162 is a lot lighter! In my opinion that's 90% of the XP problem too is the track is too wide to roll over easily. I cannot believe the difference. Obviously Ski-Doo must be finally admitting that by their new flex track. Just put a 15" and forget the rest of the nonsense.

How far did you have to move the front holes for the front of suspension? Did you use drop brackets for the back?

Looks sick, but its going to be damn hard to steer with your bars in that position!!!! Lol

Where are you getting your extension? I got mine made by chad at cr racing and I couldn't be happier. He set the mud flap on a steeper angle so no more flap getting stuck in the track
