Will a dragon RMK rear skid work in a IQR Chassis?

I just bought an 06 IQR and it has the infamous rail extensions to a 144 track. Has anyone swapped out for a Dragon RMK skid before? Will the stock drivers work? Is there enough room in the tunnel? Suggestions??

Thanks

The skid will fit just fine, but youll have to get different drop brackets in the rear...and you should also make new holes for the front mount a little higher than stock.

What track are you planning to run?

If you are using a track of an rmk youll have to get some 2.86 pitch drivers...I went with avid. They will fit the stock driveshaft, I think I went with the 8 tooth drivers vs the stock 9 tooth on the IQrr....was plenty of space for the lugs:)

if you get a 144 rmk skid you can use the stock drivers fine. 2.52 . if you go to a 155 then you will need the 2.86 drivers. if you decide to do it i can shoot you the measurement depending on the lenth of the skid. 144 and 155 have different center to centers. i have a 144 and a 151 iqrs with rmk skids, out handles anything i ever rode. if you dont have a tunnel extension you will need one. meathooker on here can set you up with drop brackets and a tunnel extension.

i did an iq rmk 144" rear skid. did stock front mounting hole on an 05 chassis and i think its 28-1/8" c-c (dont quote me on that just off the top of my head). well initially i went to the pilot hole below the stock mounting hole for the front torque arm but when riding the rails would stab the track so i moved it up to the stock holes and it works pretty good just have to carve the front rail caps down a little so they dont hit the drivers. then used meathookers drop brackets on the rear.

revdog, i think i got that aluminum bar from you, whats your address so i can send it back? havent had much time to go through my garage lately but its here and im sure you want it back! lol

Its a 163 skid and I think the track is a 2.42? What ever stock was? I was going to go with a VE tunnel extension and a big wheel kit. Do you think I will need drivers? Stear me in a direction I can just buy everything I need from. What about cooling? suggestions?

you'll need drivers for the 163. PLENTY of clearance for the 2.4" lugs, even for a 2.5 camo extreme.

i make a few things for the iqr to mount the RMK skid, tunnel ext, and traction boards. PM me if you're interested

St. Helens looks like a blast to ride! No worries about wilderness up there right? I spent a ton of time riding Adams. Lots of fun, but the good stuff is off limits unfortunately

the problems I ran into were the width of the running boards iq boards are narrower than the iqr . had to split the boards . i had to remodify the foot well braces trim the front of the tunnel to get foward in the bulkhead and move a cooler fitting , the chaincase side one on top of the tunnel foward about 3quarters of an inch so i could get the fuel tank on . The tunnel I used was out of an 08 dragon . as for the suspension that was another scotch and water to figure that one out with alot of head rubbing . heres acouple of pics for ya . oh yea if you use the dragon style tunnel and the iqr tank and seat like i did you will also have to make custom brackets to hold the gas tank and seat to the tunnel .iphone 062.jpgiphone 067.jpgsled 001.jpgsled.JPG

Does anyone know the c&c for the dragon 155/163" skids? I know its longer then the 144"
I am installing a timbersled 162" skid in my 1200wc iqr project.

Can anyone post up a pic of their fta mounting location ?

I've got all the dimensions but its telling me that the fta mount should be higher than my stock iqr hole? When I set the skid sized by side on the ground the iqr is a bit taller. So if I mount the new skid higher in the chassis it will sit way low?

Maybe I'm measuring wrong or something just dosent sound right.

it should work if you get the some bushings and some spacers depending how it is set up or you might just be able to slide it in to place
