Any reviews on a KTM 505 XCF Snowbike

A 2008 505 XC-F came up for sale around me for a reasonable price. I'm wondering if this would make a decent snow bike or if I'd just be in store for a bunch of headaches. Does anyone have any experience with these bikes on dirt or with a kit on them?

Very fast top-end oriented bike. I believe they are a 450xc with a 488 kit. With the proper carb mods it would be a good snowbike. Adjustable fuel screw for sure and probbly a carbheater if you ride in lowtemps.

meh... its a little old. chances are its got a lot of hours, the head/motor in general is worn out, and its carburated.

long story short... no. get a fresher, FI bike.

I had one. Strong reliable engine. Awesome snow bike but to much power for dirt. The only thing to check on the engine is the plastic oil pump impeller wears it's like a five minute fix to put in a new one.

10-4 on the too much aspect. I looped out an 09 in surf trunks immediatly after we assembled it. Shift from second to third.
