So I'm looking at a aro 137 as my kit. But have not rode one, none in my area. How does the aro compare to the 16-17 timbersled 137 vs. 137. As i have been on a 16 and 17. In deep snow and the hard crappy trails. Thanks.

My buddy is on an LE 137 aro. It feels a bit more nimble than my 16 Lt and definitely does not give up any performance. In many conditions he can outclimb me and he is about 20 lbs heavier. On the trails he flys thu the whoops. The new track makes a huge difference. I plan on putting the cmx track on my 16 timbersled and hope that will make the difference i think it will.

I’m in a similar boat. I road a buddy’s KTM 450 TS 120 with TSS. I’m hooked and looking at the TS A137 ARO for a Husky FE501 or FE450. Would track speed be a concern with a 137 over a 120? Any input would be appreciated on the track length and 501 vs 450.
:juggle:
Thanks

Man there are many angles to that conversation! Did you ride sleds?
What track length did you prefer? Personally if I have one kit it is always gonna be a 137". Track speed dont mean $hit when your ski is pointing at the sky because you tried to follow a 137 with a capable rider on the gas! I have heard about the guy on a 120 that can go anywhere everyone else goes, but never seen it in person. Probably depends on the riding group more than anything.

It is as you would guess short track is a super playful setup great all around turns easy floats great but needs a bit of speed in the deep stuff where the 137 just tractor's around.
The 137 of my buddies is on a 300 and my short track is on a YZ450 definitely would go shorty on a 300 -- I personally still prefer the 120 eve on a 450. On a 500 for sure the 137 will climb up easier and does not need as much speed. It does push a bit more but still is not bad. I love how the 120 just gets going and jumps up on top than just rips. As you slow down it drops into the snow more even front to back where the 137 dives more on the fork -- the push is there but the new ski masks it well. The only down side of the ARO is that I had a track clip come of and wreck my track just trying to talk to Polaris on it after they told my dealer to pound sand. I would be a very happy customer if it would not be for this cutting into my riding season.

Don't know about the ARO but I did go from a 120 to a 137 and would not go back. I am a big guy, I had the 120 on a CR500 and now have a 137 on it. I didn't switch in the middle of the season I switched in the off season so I can't directly compare but I either don't remember or can't tell the difference in handling on trail or off as far as turning and maneuverability go. What I do notice is I don't get stuck very often, I don't have to adjust my line as much and I don't have to poach existing lines to get to the same place my friends are going. I used to have to make sure I was following so I could get back to traction when needed....now it doesn't matter. Track speed feels about the same...no idea.

Back in 2012 when I bought my first kit they said only the most extreme powder days will you need a 137. I bought in chose the ST, rode that one season and went to a 137. If you ride in deep snow, which is all I do, its a no brainer. I wouldn't go back to an ST. That said the 129 is a good all around track if its a Camso or CMX style.

I went from a 137 16 Timbersled to the 129 camso ... Run deep snow all the time ... Way more nimble night and day.. don't see the advantage of the 137 at least in Utah ...

Will be coming off of a 2012 Polaris RMK Pro800 163 with a 36” front end. That’s what makes me look at track lengths. I’m afraid of the push on the hard pack and trails.

There is push for sure as you state with the 137 sometimes lots of it. The place I notice it most is on those single track sled trails which we try to avoid as much as possible. On groomed trails it makes no difference. I really like the 129 Camso track and the single rail design on my YZ.

I have the luxury of running 2 bikes so for me its 129 Camso and 137 TS. What I'm really hoping to see and I hear its coming, is a Camso paddle style track from Yeti in a 137x12.5 with 5 inch rail spacing. If I can get my hands on that track I will do it in a 137. If I can't I will likely get a 137 CMX for the super deep days run it on my CR500 in a KTM frame with a customized TS kit.

You are spending a bunch of coins. Take the time and drive out to Clyde Park Montana and ride one of the CMX kits. Meet Mark and Kamron. You are looking at a day out, a day ride and a day back. I'm running the first 137" kit CMX made. I have 4 years on the kit and have no desire to sell it. No parts bought that I haven't destroyed. They were built awesome from the beginning. Call Mark, make a date and take a Friday off work. My 137 doesn't push that I have ever noticed.
